Our vision is to create an environment to assist people to live with a sense of permanency, thereby enabling them to have hope; enhanced optimism; confidence; a sense of self and emotional wellness.

Welcome to The Haven Foundation website.
One of the most pressing needs in today’s society is to provide accommodation and support services for disadvantaged people living with enduring mental ill-health. Stable long-term housing and support are important contributors to a high quality life and enablers of recovery.
The Haven Foundation, a subsidiary of the community managed mental health organisation Mind Australia, exists to serve that need.
Haven Foundation has two established residential properties (in South Yarra and Frankston) with plans to build many more.
Our first project in South Yarra was much assisted by the provision of a 40 year lease of a disused convent building by St Joseph's Parish and the Catholic Property Trust. We are grateful for the Church’s foundational support of our vision to provide social housing and support to people living with enduring mental ill-health.
In 2018 the second project launched, serving the communities of Frankston and Mornington Peninsula. The Victorian State Government has provided funding for building and running costs and in November 2018 the Treasurer, the Hon. Tim Pallas MP, announced allocation of $7.5 million funding for two new housing developments in Melbourne’s outer suburbs of Whittlesea and Wyndham.
